Palestine: What They Aren’t Telling You About the Crisis

IN OCTOBER 2025, news of a ceasefire agreement in the Israel/Palestine war was released

across the world, causing people to rejoice and putting their fears at ease. The public was told that they would have full humanitarian access to Gaza, and that all captive hostages would be released. For residents of Palestine, the news was life-changing. After waiting with bated breath, they could finally exhale. However, that relief didn’t last long.

Since November, Israel has been brutally attacking Gaza, which is a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement. On November 20th, an Israeli airstrike on a home killed three people and injured 15. Among the deceased was a baby girl. This airstrike is one of many that has occurred recently, resulting in the deaths of at least 312 Palestinians since the ceasefire deal, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Despite the flagrant ceasefire violations and reprehensible actions by Israel, many of the world’s governments, especially America’s, have ignored the recent events. President Donald Trump, instead of addressing the attacks, has decided only to highlight his success in bringing peace to the Middle East.

In a cabinet White House meeting, he said, “We reached a momentous breakthrough in the Middle East … We ended the war in Gaza … and really, on a much bigger basis, created peace … I think it’s going to be a lasting peace, hopefully, an everlasting peace.”

President Trump’s version of “everlasting peace” apparently includes censoring media covering the attacks in Palestine. Many Americans have noticed the absence of Palestinian news videos on their social media feeds, even when their algorithms were previously curated to show these types of videos. Pro-Palestine content creators have also noticed their viewership going down.

One TikTok creator said, “Before the ceasefire deal, I was getting upwards of 58 thousand views every video. Now, I’m lucky if I get 200 views on a video. I’m not sure what happened. A lot of my followers have messaged me saying they can’t find my account, and when you search for it, a warning pops up.”

In 2023, Meta was under fire for censoring pro-Palestine content, particularly on Instagram. After facing backlash, the content was more readily available, which aided many in educating themselves on the genocide. However, users are once again finding themselves unable to repost, search for, or share the majority of Palestinian content.

Student Cara Rose described her frustrating experience with this: “Meta needs to be held accountable again. It’s shameful that I can’t find content about a literal genocide, all because the government wants us to believe that they’re saving the world. So many other countries have access to this information.

"Media censorship is such a big issue and it’s sad to see it in a country like America, where we’re supposed to be the most free.”

Despite the mass media censorship happening right now, it’s still important to stay educated on what’s going on. Gaza is once again under siege, and Israel’s deplorable actions should not be ignored. The vast majority of humanitarian aid is being blocked by Israel, meaning that Palestinians are not getting the basic materials they need to survive.

If you’re interested in helping, there are a variety of organizations dedicated to sending

aid to Gaza, such as the International Rescue Committee, the United Nations Relief and Work Agency, and the World Food Programme. If you’re unable to monetarily donate, there’s still ways to help out. You can attend protests, connect with your member of Congress to persuade them to end military funding to Israel, and boycott companies that are involved in human rights violations against Palestinians.

You can also research the genocide and the most recent attacks. Perhaps most importantly, you should listen to and uplift Palestinian voices, experiences, and stories. You can be the support in a terrifying time in someone’s life.
